Sanprobi IBS is a supplement containing a unique live bacteria culture Lactobacillus plantarum 299v demonstrating a positive influence on the human organism, which has been proven in numerous scientific studies. Supplementing daily diet with this probiotic bacteria strain positively affects the proper composition of intestinal microflora, supports the reduction of unpleasant ailments in the digestive tract and reduces the risk of the IBS occurrence or helps in its therapy.

The preparation is a probiotic and is characterized by the resistance to hydrochloric acid and bile activity, great growth properties, predisposition to adhering and settling intestinal epithelium, the production of antipathogenic compounds, positive influence on health and lack of side-effects resulting from its application.

IBS – irritable bowel syndrome is a disease of the digestive tract, in which a person feels pain and discomfort in the abdominal cavity and suffers from disorders related to the rhythm of evacuations and other anomalies (diarrheas and/or constipations). The above mentioned symptoms are very often accompanied by chronic fatigue, headaches and muscle pains as well as lowered mood or even depression. Long-lasting symptoms lead to the significant deterioration of the quality of life.

It is believed that the main reason for IBS occurrence are irregularities in the quantitative and qualitative composition of intestinal microflora and impairment of the activity of intestinal barrier. People suffering from IBS very often experience reduced level of lactic acid bacteria, including Lactobacillus plantarum 299v. Infections and long-lasting mental and physical stress may impair the functioning of intestinal microbiome and by the same token increase the risk of IBS occurrence.

A lot of other factors may influence improper functioning of the digestive tract. The most common are: irregular lifestyle, bad eating habits, alcohol abuse and smoking, taking drugs (antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, proton-pump inhibitors), anticancer therapy and after-surgery complications. Probiotics may help to rebuild or even regenerate proper intestinal microflora, which supports the work of the digestive tract. Systematic use of special probiotic cultures helps to regain proper intestine functions.

Beneficial influence of Lactobacillus plantarum 299v on the human organism
It turns out that probiotic strains, such as Lactobacillus plantarum 299v not only neutralize dangerous components of bacterial flora, but also support its beneficial elements.

Taking probiotics positively influences reduction of the amount of potentially pathogenic bacteria. Lactobacillus plantarum 299v demonstrates antibacterial properties towards: Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Yersinia enterocolitica, Citrobacter freundii, Bacillus cereus, Enterococcus faecalis and Enterobacter cloacae. It has also been proven that this strain may stimulate mucin production by epithelial cells of the intestines, which limit pathogen adhesion to the surface of the digestive tract and therefore counteract developing infections.

Translocation is the migration of live bacteria through epithelial membrane to lamina propria and then to mesenteric lymph nodes and possibly to other tissues. Weakening the functions of the immune system work and as a result the growth of mucosa permeability allows to pathogen relocation around the organism. It has been proven that applying L. plantarum 299v to laboratory animals reduces bacteria relocation from the digestive tract lumen to blood and other organs and tissues in the organism.

Improper composition of the intestinal flora may cause inflammations and weaken the activity of the immune system of the host. It has been proven that various strains of intestinal L. plantarum can stimulate the production of cytokines IL-12 and IL-10 and therefore take part in modulating the immune system. Moreover, these bacteria usually also demonstrate the properties causing reduction of IL-8 secretion, which is a strong pro-inflammatory cytokine. L. plantarum299v is therefore able both to control immunological reactions as well as to exert anti-inflammatory effect.

Summing up, Sanprobi IBS is a dietary supplement that supports prophylaxis and effective therapy of the irritable bowel syndrome. Regular use of the preparation may also contributes to reduction or total elimination of negative symptoms in the digestive tract (diarrheas, constipations, stomachaches, gases) and therefore increasing general quality of life.
