Douglas Homocystrol + TMG is a high-quality dietary supplement which contains B vitamin complex, betaine, choline and magnesium. Ingredients and their forms were selected to support actively cardiovascular function, mainly by providing methyl groups required for reducing levels of atherogenic homocysteine. The product contains:

L-Methylfolate (Metafolin®) – the most effective, active form of folic acid which is formed in the body by the enzyme MTHFR and may be a direct donor of methyl groups for reducing homocysteine levels, along with choline and its oxidised form trimethylglycine (betaine). L-Methylfolate is the only form of folate capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier. What is more, it does not mask vitamin B12 deficiencies and contribute to the accumulation of unmodified folic acid in the body.
Magnesium – as the most bioavailable chelate form, it is a key microelement for the functioning of muscle tissue – it prevents excessive muscle cramps. Since the heart is the most important muscle of the body, it regulates its function and is thus an essential preventive measure against arrhythmia.
Helpful in maintaining healthy homocysteine metabolism

What is methylcobalamin?
Methylcobalamin is a biologically active form of vitamin B12. It is one of the two forms of this vitamin that may be used as cofactors in various reactions. It differs from popular cyanocobalamin in the presence of methyl group instead of cyanide, thanks to which it releases the organism from the need of neutralizing this harmful factor.
The methyl group from methylcobalamin may be transferred to homocysteine, thanks to which it comes back in the form of methionine in order to be further converted to SAMe, which is the main donor of methyl groups in our organism. These methyl groups may be then used in the processes of creatine production, in neurotransmitter metabolism and as DNA methylation, thanks to which we achieve proper energy level, better well-being and generally better condition of the organism. B12 is a coenzyme for three enzymes: isomerase, methyltransferase and dehalogenase.
