Quicksilver, Vitamin C With R-Lipoic Acid a dietary supplement in the liquid form, containing vitamin C (in the form of sodium ascorbate) and alpha-lipoic acid in the form of liposomes and nanoemulsion. Thanks to exceptional technology Quicksilver's Delivery Systems, active substances contained in the preparation exceptionally effectively reach target places and phospholipids, of which liposomes are made, have additional positive influence in the form of cell membrane nourishment, facilitation of nutrient absorption and better elimination of metabolic products and toxins.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) demonstrates anticancer, cardioprotective, neuroprotective effects and strengthens immunity. It is a strong antioxidant which “sweeps away” free radicals, thanks to which it counteracts oxidative stress and consequently – decreases the risk of diseases, which are directly or indirectly related (i.a. cancers, atherosclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, rheumatism, ulcerative colitis).
In the preparation, sodium salt of L-ascorbic acid was used – sodium ascorbate, which contrary to pure ascorbic acid, is characterized by lower level of acidity, thanks to which it does not cause undesirable gastrointestinal side-effects and is better tolerated by people with gastrointestinal hypersensitivity.
Alpha-lipoic acid is a strong antioxidant. It both directly and indirectly (stimulates regeneration of antioxidants, e.g. vitamin C, E, glutathione) influences the reduction of free radicals. Moreover, it influences proper metabolism of carbohydrates and lipids.
Alpha-lipoic acid also demonstrates the ability to bind heavy metals (such as for example copper, manganese, lead, zinc). Chelating of metal ions may contribute to decreasing oxidative stress in the organism. Moreover, it neutralizes heavy metals (limits their absorption from the digestive system, facilitates their excretion from kidneys and increases their elimination with bile), thanks to which it may counteract negative effects of poisonings, i.a. lead, arsenic, cadmium or mercury.
Alpha-lipoic acid also demonstrates hypoglycemic and antioxidant effect in diabetes (it counteracts insulin-resistance), has immunomodulating effect, supports the therapy of hypertension (normalizes blood pressure) and mitigates side-effects of chemotherapy.
Moreover, as a cofactor of many mitochondrial dehydrogenases, it is essential for the proper functioning of mitochondria (it increases efficiency of ATP and NADH synthesis), thanks to which it increases energy supplies in the organism, counteracts fatigue and alleviates the symptoms related to mitochondrial dysfunction and may turn out to be exceptionally helpful in case of e.g. glaucomatous optic neuropathy.
Alpha-lipoic acid, closed in the form of a liposome, has the ability to permeate brain-blood barrier, thanks to which it may reach the majority of tissues of the organism.
Liposomes – effective tool in transporting bioactive substances
Both vitamin C and alpha-lipoic acid provided with food or traditional dietary supplements are characterized with small stability and even the majority of them, before they reach the target places, undergo many processes, which lead to losses. Liposomal technology is very helpful in this case, as it enables effective transport of many substances, both hydrophilic and lipophilic.
Liposomes are closed plasmalemmal structures in the form of vesicles surrounded by a lipid bilayer. The structure of the liposomal encasement is analogous to biological membranes, thanks to which it constitutes a safe carrier of substances contained inside and guarantees protection from the activity of digestive processes, releasing the active substance only in the target place. An additional advantage is the fact that in such a form even high doses of vitamin C may be applied without a laxative effect.
To sum up, Quicksilver, Vitamin C With R-Lipoic Acid is a dietary supplement which strengthens antioxidant barrier of the organism. Thanks to the content of substances with strong antioxidant potential, it counteracts the main civilization diseases related to oxidative stress. It is primarily recommended in case of increased susceptibility to infections (the fall-winter season), excessive exposure to stress and hard physical work or intensive trainings. Exceptional, liposomal formula of the supplement makes it suitable for people with gastrointestinal hypersensitivity.
The preparation may be also applied topically. Thanks to applying the technology Quicksilver's Delivery Systems, active substances may also permeate skin layer.
In case of traditional ascorbic acid along with the increase of the dose, there is an increased risk of undesired side effects in the form of gastrointestinal problems. Sodium ascorbate used in the preparation, contrary to pure ascorbic acid, it characterized with less acidic reaction and does not cause intestinal discomfort and consequently – it may be used by people sensitive to food. Additionally, the application of the liposomal form allows to reach target places, skipping digestive processes, which decreases the risk of a laxative effect.
Quicksilver Scientific is a brand which, apart from manufacturing of nutraceuticals and active selling of dietary supplements, specialises in liposomes, heavy metals blood testing and regulating the body’s detoxification process.
Dr Christopher Shade, the founder and CEO of the company, patented an innovative method for analysing the extent to which our body counteracts toxic effects of mercury. In addition, he designed unique products based on properties of liposomes which are absorbed quickly and their special structure and size protect them and their contents from damage by digestive processes.
To sum up, the main goal of the company is to ensure the best non-invasive support for functioning of the natural detoxification process and effective regeneration of the body by means of advanced and safe manufacturing methods.

Sodium is an important component of the intracellular fluids, and is a regulator of acid-base balance. Along with potassium affects the proper of growth and provides the proper functioning of muscles and nerves. The source of acquisition is table salt (NaCl) and bladderwrack, shellfish, bacon, beef, and of plant beets and carrots. People on salt-free diet should avoid, among others, spicy sauces and smoked meats and sausages.
Sodium deficiency is very rare, at heaving sweating after a long effort (e.g. in the marathon).
Excess sodium increases blood pressure (especially for the elderly), edema and increased thirst. Exceeding the daily dose of 14g a day can cause poisoning.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) it is a vitamin soluble in body fluids, can be taken from foods (fruits and vegetables), or as drug derived synthetically. The largest of its resources can be found in broccoli, Brussels sprout, kale, black currant fruit and hawthorn, citrus fruits, tomatoes, Savoy cabbage, potatoes. In fact, intake of vitamin C of the food products does not limit the absorbed quantity. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a potent antioxidant, it is an antitoxic, increasing the immune system due to the elimination of risk of bacterial contamination. Vitamin C prevents rupture of blood vessels, affects the blood cholesterol level. It substantially increases the absorption of iron. Inhibits the growth of cancer cells. Lowers stress levels.
Vitamin C deficiency causes abnormal development of connective tissue, cracking capillaries, abnormal calcification of bone tissue, impaired absorption of iron, scorbutus. With the lack of vitamin C, all kinds of injuries do not heal up properly. Vitamin C deficiency can be caused by smoking; each cigarette is destroying up to 100 mg of vitamin C.
Dosage: The demand is 60-80 mg daily. It does not limit the ability to consume higher doses. Some side effects may occur only with longer taking of synthetic vitamin C.
Sodium ascorbate is an organic chemical compound that is a salt of ascorbic acid and sodium. In other words, it is a buffered vitamin C. It is characterized by much lower acidity than L-ascorbic acid, and thus does not exert such a strong effect on the membrane of the gastric mucosa. Sodium ascorbate works well in people with a sensitive digestive system, who suffer from gastrointestinal problems following administration of vitamin C in a traditional form. However, it is not recommended for people on a low-sodium diet.
In supplementation, sodium ascorbate is used to replenish the level of vitamin C. It is a part of oxidation-reduction systems, protects the body against free radicals and oxidative stress. In addition, Vitamin C is necessary for the proper course of collagen production; it acts as a cofactor in the synthesis of carnitine and adrenaline and influences the metabolism of non-heme plant-based iron.
Dosing: the minimum daily demand for vitamin C is 60-80mg, whereas in case of smokers, pregnant women, people exposed to stress or intense effort it is much higher. It is assumed that 1g of sodium ascorbate corresponds to 0.889g of L-ascorbic acid.
Phosphatidylcholine – a group of phospholipids whose molecule contains choline. It can be synthesised endogenously in the human body, is a building block of cell membranes and thus influences beneficially their functioning. Since it is found commonly in the body, phosphatidylcholine supplementation shows many health benefits.
This phospholipid has a beneficial impact on the functioning of liver tissues. It has hepatoprotective properties, consequently preventing damage to this organ caused by toxic agents, and helps treat its diseases. It reduces oxidative stress in the liver and has therefore a beneficial impact on the viability of hepatocytes.
Because of the presence of phosphatidylcholine molecules in cell membranes, whose efficiency is critical to maintaining normal neurotransmission, this compound is indicated to influence positively neuronal function. It is suggested that phosphatidylcholine may be effective especially in disorders associated with too low acetylcholine concentrations in the body.
It is also said to promote lipolysis. Such activity of this compound is observed only in topical administration. There are no reliable sources which describe that this phospholipid is capable of speeding up body fat loss in oral delivery.
Lecithin is part of the phospholipids (lipid complex), beneficial for the function of the cardiovascular system and blood lipid profile and fat metabolism. It is a source of choline which is a precursor of acetylcholine (neurotransmitter) that affects the nervous system, including inositol (stabilizer of the copper and zinc balance in the body). It improves concentration, cognition and memory. Forms a colloidal suspension of a liquid in the fat (emulsification) allowing for their use in the food industry. It is a component of dietary supplements supporting the work of the central nervous system, blood circulation, accelerating weight loss and in protein, carbohydrate-protein supplement as an emulsifier, available at www.muscle-zone.pl
