How to take care of your health?

Taking care of health is not only about physical exercises or sports. True health can only be maintained by evenly caring for all three spheres of human life, physical, emotional and spiritual. It’s really about keeping a balance between these elements. If we neglect even one of them, there is no question of health. If you haven’t looked after your health so far, every time is good to start doing this. Use the list below and you will surely see an improvement in your quality of life.

Healthy diet

The use of appropriate eating habits is one of the most important elements of maintaining health. Avoid fashionable diets and popular diets (e.g. the Dukan diet). Make sure your meals contain a balanced amount of carbohydrate, protein and fat. Yes, also fat!

You’ve probably heard many theories about nutrition. Vegetarians don’t eat meat; vegans avoid all animal products; many other products are eliminated from slimming diets. There are also supporters of dietary supplements and even genetically modified foods. The truth, however, lies - as always - in the middle. The human body needs all the nutrients. Their elimination or replacement with something else may lead to metabolism disorders and, as a result, to health problems.

Motivation

Just knowing that you and your partner or friend are taking care of your health is a great way to motivate yourself. Involve family members in the daily health care program. Together, develop a schedule of exercise and physical activity, a diet, and a plan of other positive activities. A man living in a society is healthier than a loner who is always somewhere on the sidelines.

Get enough sleep

Try to get enough sleep every night. Adults should sleep 7-9 hours a day, while school-age children even 10-11 hours. Sleep is important for many reasons. Regenerating your body’s strength comes first, but there are other benefits as well. The psyche also needs time to process all the information flowing to it during the day. Besides, sleep is also beneficial for eating habits. A study by The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that people who only slept four hours a day consumed an average of 500 calories more than those who slept eight hours a night.

Proper hygiene

Wash your hands thoroughly after contact with a sick person or after using the toilet. Do the same after contact with anything that may contain large amounts of bacteria. Also, brush your teeth and tongue at least twice a day to help reduce plaque build-up and the build-up of harmful bacteria. Personal hygiene is a factor that has significantly extended human life over the past centuries. Isn’t that a sufficient argument to maintain a high level of hygiene?

Take care about your psyche

The psyche is as important an element of health as good body condition. Learn how to maintain healthy relationships with other people and be stronger emotionally. Understanding your own feelings and getting to know yourself bring you inner peace. They allow you to deal with emotional suffering, and thus - overcome all fears and weaknesses. For health in general, this is of great importance.

Avoid addictions

It will not be a surprise to anyone if I write about the disastrous effects of addictions on the overall health of a person. If you want to stay healthy, you need to take steps such as quitting smoking, overcoming drug addiction, stopping alcohol abuse, and saying goodbye to all drugs that harm your body.
