Doctor's Best Bone Maker is a dietary supplement containing a patented formula Bonolive™, which provides high-quality extract from olive leaves, standardized for the content of min. 40% of oleuropein. The preparation supports the process of bone formation with the simultaneous inhibition of their resorption and also increases their durability.

Oleuropein is a compound appearing in plants from Oleaceae family, especially Olea europaea. It is a bitter glycoside, which can be found mainly in fruits, root, trunk and leaves. Oleuropein belongs to coumarin derivatives, called secoiridoids. It was proven that it is engaged in bone metabolism and contributes to slowing down bone mineralization and moreover it exhibits viricidal, bactericidal and fungicidal effect. It may also contribute to inhibiting platelet aggregation.

Help in restoring the balance of bone metabolism
It was proven that oleuropein contributes to the growth of density of craniometaphyseal bone and long bones. This effect positively influences the process of bone mineralization and it is especially observed in experiments on models with osteoporosis resulting from age or menopause. The fact that oleuropein causes density of long bones testifies to high bioavailability of this molecule, as the substance creating diaphysis of cortical bone is not very vascularized, therefore it constitutes a target which is hard to achieve.

Oleuropein stimulates bone mineralization. It has the ability to stimulate the activity of osteoblasts and the synthesis of proteins of bone matrix. Moreover, it is conducive to storing minerals, especially calcium, in protein matrix. At the same time, oleuropein inhibits resorption of bones by limiting bone damage made by the cells of osteoclasts.

Interestingly, oleuropein does not demonstrate in a detectable way the effect of imitating the activity of estrogen compound. In relation to this, it may be used in case of all kinds of disorders of connective tissue and in order to maintain the health of bones, as its effect biologically is not limited only to the situation in which deficiency of the hormone is observed.

Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effect
Moreover, this substance is attributed antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect. It was also proven that it has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties.

Anti-inflammatory properties of oleuropein result primarily from its ability to inhibit the so-called “oxidative burst”, which takes place in multinuclear neutrophil cells. This phenomenon may be responsible for the excessive production of free radicals and it may initiate inflammation processes in the organism.

Summing up, Doctor's Best Bone Maker is a dietary supplement which helps to restoree the balance of bone metabolism.

It is recommended to use especially in order to counteract bone metabolism disorders (it helps to maintain osteoblastic and osteoclastic cell activity on the constant level), repair imbalanced of bone metabolism (e.g. in osteoporosis type I and II) and stimulate the processes of bone regeneration (e.g. in case of bone fracture or crack).

The preparation may be especially helpful for women in 5th and 6th decade of life, elderly people and also young people (it optimizes gaining bone mass in the phase of growth).
