Zinc Gluconate Zinc Gluconate

Swanson Zinc is a dietary supplement in tablets (one tablet contains 30mg of zinc gluconate in a chelat form), which is characterized by excellent bio-retention and bio-availability.

Zinc – a trace element (mineral, microelement) essential to the proper functioning of the human body, the biggest amount of zinc could be found in oysters, lean meats, poultry, groats and full grain bread. It plays a crucial role in metabolic reactions on a cellular level and participates in cell membranes stabilization. It is a component of approximately 200 enzymes, participates in different metabolic transformations, where is present in their active centers, allows to proper connection of the enzyme and substratum.

Zinc effects on every basic life processes, because it is a part of transcription factors, regulatory proteins and different form of protein binding DNA, containing so called zinc domain.

According to above :
- takes part in the process of bone mineralization and healing wounds
- enhances immunity of the body
- supports insulin secretion by the pancreas
- regulates the level of vitamin A and cholesterol
- stimulates spermatozoon production
- cooperates in the regulation of blood pressure and a heart rate

In addition, zinc heals stomach ulcers, varicose veins, rheumatism, acne and skin diseases.

Etiology and symptoms of zinc deficiency:
A regular use of pharmaceutics including contraceptive pills, improper supplementation with iron or copper (excessive) and drinking alcohol – these are the factors that decreases a zinc level in the body, what may leads to the deficiency of it.

Chronic shortages of zinc cause many negative effects on health like: anemia, birth defects and decrease in rate of growth (among children), improper wound healing, psoriasis, skin inflammations, hair loss, insulin resistance, appetite loss, nyctalopia (night blindness), weakened immune system, improper functioning of the thymus and lymph nodes, smell and taste disorders.

Zinc effect on immunity of the body:
Zinc is essential for proper functioning of the immune system, a lack of zinc leads to immune disorders and maintains chronic inflammations, what (as we know) contributes to atherosclerosis, diabetes or tumors.

Zinc stimulates the immunological system due to the stimulation of interleukin 1 production, stimulates thymus, which starts to produce appropriate amount of thymulin – a hormone, which stimulates lymphocytes T production.

Moreover, zinc prevents us from flu, mycosis, cold, conjunctivitis and other infections. It eases symptoms of autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis.

Zinc effect on fertility and testosterone:
Zinc increases spermatozoon production and takes part in the testosterone synthesis – shortages of this element may cause an androgen deficiency in the human body.

It is because this element activates 17 beta reductase on enzyme that catalyzes the last step in the production of androgens, and so an androstenedione conversion to testosterone.

Moreover, it makes receptors in Leydig cells more sensitive on LH (lutropin – a hormone stimulating testosterone production in testicles), due to cAMP induction, stops action of enzymes: aromatase 5 alfa reductase, which makes testosterone transformed in unfavorable metabolites: estradiol and DHT being responsible, among other things, for enlarged prostate.

As seen above, zinc lowers estradiol and DHT level, and raises testosterone in a natural way.

Zinc effect on a sugar level in the blood:
Performed researches has shown that regularly supplementation with zinc or diet rich in this mineral may lower sugar (glucose) concentration in the blood when taken on an empty stomach or two hours after a meal, and lowers HbA1c – a glycated hemoglobin which is used in a diabetes diagnostic. Zinc is able to reduce an increased level of glucose, probably thanks to a transporter, which takes part in insulin secretion by the pancreas.

Zinc effect on lipid profile:
Supplementation with zinc has a positive effect on lipid profile protecting the circulatory system and heart. Zinc decreases the level of triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL (“bad cholesterol”), which means that it is an important factor for atherosclerosis, hypertension or ischaemic heart disease (IHD).

To sum up, Swanson Zinc is an excellent organic form (chelated) of zinc in a proper dosage. The formulation was created for a quick restoration of zinc shortages and a wide support for the whole body. This microelement might be especially important for those who struggle with bad condition of hair and nails.

Zinc

Information

Zinc (chemical element from transition group 12) belongs to the trace elements, it helps maintain acid-base balance of the body, protein, energy, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. It provides bone metabolism and transport of oxygen. It protects the body against free radicals. Necessary for the proper operation of the senses of taste and smell. Positive impact on the process of insulin metabolism in the pancreas. It supports visual adaptation to the dark, has a significant influence on brain function. It is helpful in the treatment of infertility and mental illness.
Zinc deficiency leads to decreased immunity, and growth retardation. Zinc deficiency can occur in case of excessive consumption of simple sugars. In the case of hormonal therapy of women with irregular menstruation, the therapy should be associated with increased consumption of zinc. It can be found in food like: beans, eggs, carrots, beef and pork meat, milk, nuts, citrus fruits, seafood, rice, cottage cheese, lettuce.
Dosage: Daily 12-15 mg zinc. Exceeding the daily dose of 20 mg cause symptoms of poisoning of the body.

Zinc gluconate

Information

Zinc gluconate - a highly bioavailable form of zinc, a trace element belonging to the group of essential microelements. Being the component of numerous enzymatic systems in the human organism, it demonstrates considerable influence on its functioning.

It is an important regulator of work of the immune system, it regulates the processes of production and activity of leukocytes. It promotes the efficiency of the immunity barrier of the organism, has direct antibacterial influence, which is taken advantage of in topical application of zinc preparations.

Supplementation with zinc is also used in order to increase the level of testosterone in the organism. It demonstrates an inhibiting influence on the activity of aromatase P450, which transforms the male sex hormone into estrogen. In this way, it has promoting influence on the concentration of the male sex hormone in the organism.

Zinc is also important when it comes to the functions of the nervous system. Its deficiencies decrease the efficiency of cognitive functions, inhibit concentration and may negatively influence emotional states. Some sources suggest that zinc deficiency may be related to depression.

Some drugs from the group of NSAIDs, inducing acetylsalicylic acid and ibuprofen should not be applied with supplements containing zinc.
