You have got questions about the product

  • Facilitates the process of memorizing new information
  • Influences the increase of acetylcholine in the CNS
  • Supports the functioning of the nervous system

  • Helps to alleviate psychological problems
  • Improves neuroplasticity of the brain
  • Supports the work of the circulatory system
  • Has nootropic properties

Jarrow Uridine is a dietary supplement containing highly bioavailable sodium salt of 5’-uridine monophosphate providing uridine – an ingredient with nootropic properties, which takes part in the creation of new synapses and supports the functioning of mitochondria.

Uridine is a chemical compound, naturally occurring in the organism, belonging to the group of nucleosides. Uridine molecule consists of organic pyrimidine base – uracil, combined with β-N1-glycoside bond with ribose and the form of ribofuranose. Uridine is a component of nucleic acids (especially RNA) and plays an important role in the nervous system.

Uridine has nootropic effect – it improves memory and concentration, increases the ability to learn and has neuroprotective properties, thanks to which it protects nerve cells from the effect of toxic substances.

Moreover, uridine influences proper sugar metabolism. It takes part in transforming galactose into glucose, which in turn is broken down in the process of glycolysis. Galactose, after its transformation into glucose may be used as an energy substrate.

Uridine can be also found in food, i.a. in bovine and porcine liver, broccoli, cabbage, beer and tomatoes as well as in mother’s milk.

Uridine as a substrate for the synthesis of phosphatidylcholine
Uridine is a substrate for the production of phosphatidylcholine – a phospholipid, which is the component of nerve cell membranes of neurons, which is used for the production of acetylcholine, which is the main neurotransmitter in the central nervous system. Thanks to this property, uridine positively influences the pace of brain work – it increases integrity of cell membranes and facilitates neurotransmission, as a result of which it improves cognitive functions, increases the ability to focus attention and counteracts memory loss, related to age.

Improvement of synaptic plasticity
It was observed that uridine, in combination with DHA and choline may have positive influence on regulating synaptic plasticity. It was proven that this compound may activate the so-called nerve growth factor (NGF), which is responsible for the synthesis of new neurons and protect the mature ones. Disorder of NGF may be one of the causes of cholinergic neuron degeneration, which consequently may lead to Alzheimer’s disease.

Alleviation of depression symptoms
According to many scientific studies, uridine may contribute to reducing the symptoms of depression. Antidepressant mechanism of uridine is related to the ability of this compound to stimulate the activity of dopamine and more precisely, the increase of dopamine receptors, thanks to which it may increase mental energy stores and help to stabilize emotional processes.

Moreover, uridine counteracts dysfunctions of mitochondria, which may also have positive influence on life quality of patients with depression.

To sum up, Jarrow Uridine is a dietary supplement which is conducive to intensive regeneration of the brain.

The preparation improves attention, facilitate thinking processes and increases learning effectiveness, thanks to which it may be especially useful in case of activities requiring high concentration and fast acquisition of new information. Moreover, the preparation strengthens the protection of the organism from deterioration of cognitive functions, especially those related to aging processes and it may also complement supplementation among people, who have neurological problems.

Uridine – a nucleoside found naturally in the human body as a building block of RNA strands. Since RNA has a major role in the nervous system, uridine has a great impact on its function.

It is supplemented to promote nervous system function. Uridine is recommended especially to persons undertaking strenuos mental activity. It may increase congitive abilities, facilitate focus and memory. It is suggested that supplementation with this nucleoside influences beneficially the body’s ability to form connection between synapses.

Uridine may also exert a beneficial impact on mental function by influencing directly acetylcholine synthesis.

In addition, uridine supplementation may prove effective in persons struggling with bad emotional states (some sources report the efficacy of this nucleoside even in reducing symptoms of depression). It promotes the activity of dopamine responsible for well-being and motivation.

Salt (sodium chloride, or table salt), natural source of electrolytes (chlorine and potassium), regulating water and electrolyte and acid-base balance of the body, affecting the nervous system and blood pressure. Sodium is an essential element for the proper growth. The proper dose of salt prevents overheating of the body and solar stroke. It provides the proper functioning of muscles and nerves the body. Chlorine in combination with sodium, is involved in the digestive process and maintains acid-base balance in the body, as antitoxin removes toxic products of metabolism in the liver. Salt is a flavour component and preservative of many foods, nutritional supplements and mixtures of electrolytes, available at

Dosage: no specific standards of consumption, used so as to provide sufficient amount of electrolytes to the body (sodium and chloride).
