Blackstone Labs Abnormal is an anabolic-androgenic agent based on the 19-NorAndrost-4-ene-3b-ol,17-one compound, which is figuring also under the names: 19 NorAndrosterone and 19 Nor Dehydroepiandrosterone, in short 19 Nor Andro and 19-Nor-DHEA, a derivative from DHEA.

However, 19 NorAndrosterone does not owe the strength of its action to conversion to DHEA but to 19-nortestosterone (nandrolone) that can undergo in two ways in the human body. The first path includes the synthesis of 19-Norandrostenedione (Nor-Dione) with the cooperation of 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase form which nandrolone is made in the presence of 17 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. The second path involves the creation of 19-norandrostenediol (Nor-Diol) in a reaction catalyzed by 17 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase and then nandrolone with the help of 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase. As a consequence of the 19-Nor-DHEA transformations a broad spectrum of compounds is produced, compounds that show specific activity, including 19-Norandrostenedione, 19-norandrostenediol and 19-nortestosterone, among which the latter, namely nan-drolone, is considered anabolically the strongest.  

19-nortestosterone (Nandrolone) is an anabolic-androgenic steroid that bears a high structural resemblance to testosterone that can be distinguished from the aforemen-tioned compound by the lack of carbon atom at the 19th position, which is a conse-quence of replacing the CH3 group at the 10th carbon sterane with H atom. Nandro-lone is characterized by high anabolic strength and low androgenic potential equal to 125:37 and it is important to note that the anabolic effects are mainly observed in muscle tissue. Because of conversion to dihydronandrolone (DHN) instead of dihy-drotestosterone (DHT) and thereby limited androgenic activity, it shows diminished ability to promote the development of prostatic hypertrophy, cutaneous pimples, oily skin and male pattern baldness, as well as reduced ability to maintain high libido and psycho-motor stimulation. By demonstrating progestational properties resulting from the influence on progesterone receptors and being susceptible to estrogen transfor-mations with the participation of aromatase and cytochrome P450, it can inhibit the synthesis of endogenous testosterone, increase estrogen activity around the nipples, promote fat tissue deposition and water accumulation. As an agonist of aldosterone, a hormone that increases the reabsorption of sodium in the kidneys, which increases the retention of larger amounts of water in the body. It supports good joint health by slowing down the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines which is mediated by progesterone receptors and at the same time reducing pain, increasing joint “lubrica-tion” by maintaining female hormone activity, improving hydration by enhancing al-dosterone activity and accelerating collagen synthesis and skeletal mineralization.

19-Nor-DHEA as a two-way precursor of nandrolone significantly enhancing muscu-lar anabolism promotes the growth and renewal of muscle tissue. Intensifying hor-monal activity it supports the processes strengthening the skeletal system and joints. By promoting the accumulation of glycogen and water in the organism, it increases muscle volume and creates suitable conditions for numerous metabolic processes.

Because in the presence of 5 alpha-reductase 19 Nor Andro promotes the formation of DHN, instead of DHT, it does not significantly influence the progress of male pat-tern baldness, the formation of pimples or prostatic hyperplasia. Due to the nec-essary transformations to nandrolone and the fact of the conversion to its other pre-cursors, it shows weaker ability to promote side effects accompanying the activity of female hormones, compared to the directly administered nandrolone.   

19 Nor Dehydroepiandrosterone influences the formation of the lipidogram, by in-creasing the concentration of low-density lipoproteins (LDL) and lowering the amount of high-density lipoptoreins (HDL). Although it is not a methylated form, upon intake, an increase in liver enzymes is observable. It is also possible to increase the load on the kidneys and increase blood pressure.

The application of 19-Nor-DHEA in the decanoate and enanthate forms, allows for the preservation of higher purity of the compound during its production and im-provement of bioavailability of the active substance.

To sum up, Blackstone Labs Abnormal is an effective anabolic-androgenic agent, strongly focused on the stimulation of muscle anabolism with, at the same time, low side effects of androgenic activity.
