Olimp Sojavit 85 is a soy protein isolate whose rich amino acid profile guarantees high bioavailability. The supplement is recommended especially vegans and vegetarians who want to provide high-quality proteins. The product has been enriched with choline, inositol, and l-carnitine, whose supply is often insufficient in diets excluding animal products.

Soy protein isolate (SPI) – is an ideal solution for people who exclude animal products from the diet, but wanting to provide a wholesome source of protein. It is an essential building component of the body, dedicated not only for physically active people.

The amino acid profile of the protein obtained from soy is characterized by a high content of essential and endogenous amino acids, especially arginine and glutamic acid. As a result, the biological value of SPI is 74. This indicator refers to the possibility of using the amino acids contained in the protein for current needs, and egg protein is considered to be the model protein – its biological value equals 100.

Soy protein in the form of an isolate has a low content of carbohydrates and fats, which has a positive effect on the absorption rate of amino acids from the gastrointestinal tract. Thanks to this, the supplement is ideally suited as complementation of proteins in the peri-training period, and as an addition to a meal with low protein content.

Protein demand
The amount of protein recommended for consumption depends mainly on the level of physical activity and age. Contrary to popular belief, people with a sedentary lifestyle should also consume protein in the diet in amounts of about 1 gram per kilogram of body weight. This amount may be slightly higher in older people, whose absorption of proteins is often worse, and their increased supply may prevent sarcopenia.

Protein in physically active people
When the level of physical activity increases, so does the body's need for proteins – they allow muscle regeneration and rebuilding of damaged tissues. Depending on the discipline being practiced, nutritional recommendations for protein intake range from 1.2 to even 2.2 grams per kilogram of body weight. Thanks to this, the body has enough substrate to protect muscles against catabolism, reduce the amount of microinjury and enable muscle hypertrophy.

Functions of proteins in the body
Proteins are the basic building blocks of the skin, muscles, hair, and internal organs, so it is important to provide them in accordance with the current needs of the body. Proteins have an enzymatic, transport and storage function as well as are necessary for the production of peptide hormones. In an average person, 12-15% of body weight constitute proteins, and this percentage increases with more muscles. Every day, as a result of protein turnover taking place in the body, about 300g of protein is degraded – which, in part, is used for the synthesis of endogenous amino acids. This process allows the removal of unnecessary and used proteins so that the body can replace them with new ones.

Nervous system support
The high content of choline in the preparation helps to maintain the proper functioning of the nervous system because it is used to synthesize acetylcholine. This neurotransmitter is responsible for the sensation of stimuli from both the external and internal environment, participates in the process of memory formation and communicates with skeletal muscles, regulating their contractility. Inositol affects the structure of brain cells, protecting it from damage. In addition, it allows the correct transmission of impulses in the nervous system, promotes the maintenance of brain plasticity, and also positively affects the mood and well-being.

Efficient energy metabolism
The l-carnitine contained in the supplement is responsible for the transport of long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondrion, allowing lipid beta-oxidation. The supply of l-carnitine promotes the maintenance of the metabolic efficiency of mitochondria, and thus increases the perceived energy level and helps removal of excess free radicals. The low availability of L-carnitine may be a limiting factor in the use of fatty acids for energy purposes, especially in people avoiding animal products. L-carnitine occurs only in animal products, mainly in meat (red), but it can also be found in milk, cheese or eggs.

In summary, Olimp Sojavit 85 is a high-quality protein supplement containing exclusively soy-derived proteins. It provides a wholesome and well-digestible source of protein that ensures efficient post-workout regeneration and facilitates the process of building muscle mass. The addition of ingredients that support the work of the nervous system and mitochondria helps to maintain the efficiency of the entire organism. SPI is an ideal source of protein for people avoiding animal products in the diet, but wanting to ensure the supply of high-quality proteins.
