Lab One N ° 1 SportBiotic is a synbiotic preparation in the form of capsules with a clinically documented influence optimizing the immune response caused by high levels of effort in athletes. At the same time, the product supports the regeneration and efficiency of the body.

Carefully-matched to the needs of active people, Bifidobacterium breve BR03 and Streptococcus thermophilus FP4 strains, were coated with a special protective layer, guaranteeing high bacterial survival. In addition, the preparation was enriched with acacia fiber, thus ensuring the survival of strains and normal bowel function.

The product consists of:
Bifidobacterium breve BR03 – this is a non-sporulating bacteria, with a positive-Gram stain. It shows high resistance to adverse conditions in the human digestive tract, thanks to which it successfully reaches the intestinal tract it inhabits with its digestive content.

Bifidobacterium breve BR03 supports the fermentation of certain types of polyols (sugar alcohols), such as mannitol or sorbitol, which are often used to sweeten low-carbohydrate products. These compounds are difficult to digest without the participation of bacteria (they may cause bloating and discomfort).

Bifidobacterium breve, as a result of fermentation processes, also produces organic acids and lactic acid, lowering intestinal pH. A more acidic reaction prevents the development of harmful anaerobic bacteria, such as C. Difficile, C. botulinum, H. pylori. In addition, Bifidobacterium breve competes for energy substrates with the above strains. This means that the more beneficial bacterial strains are in the body, the lower the chance of settling pathogenic microbes.

In this way, B. breve allows for optimizing the functions of the intestines in the immune system. Their condition may be explicitly impaired in athletes due to, for example, inflammation caused by hard resistance training. The appropriate composition of the microbiota, including the beneficial presence of the B. breve strain, prevents the passage of pathogens from the intestinal content to the body and reduces inflammation, which has been confirmed by research. Besides, this strain improves the absorption of nutrients and minerals, which is especially important in long-distance sports, where there is a need to dynamically replenish losses already during the effort.

Streptococcus thermophilus FP4 is a thermophilic gram-positive bacterium used in milk products. This strain is not included in the physiological intestinal microbiota of humans.

Streptococcus thermophilus is primarily well-adapted for carrying out the process of fermentation of lactose, sucrose, and glucose, thus obtaining lactic acid, which is somewhat beneficial for the body. With age, the lactose tolerance decreases due to the decreasing amount of lactase enzyme – responsible for the breakdown of this disaccharide into galactose and glucose. S. thermophilus bacteria collect the milk sugar, which they use to produce lactic acid that, in turn, can be used by the body.

The most important quality of S. thermophilus for athletes is the promotion of the differentiation of immune cells, macrophages, and lymphocytes, thus improving the defense response. In other words, this bacterium allows faster elimination of micro damages occurring on a daily basis in very active people. Therefore, supplementation with this strain allows diminishing the post-workout pain and faster regeneration of the whole body, especially the vulnerable movement apparatus of athletes.

In order to strengthen the intestinal barrier, thus preventing the penetration of toxins into the body, it is necessary to provide an adequate amount of dietary fiber, especially the one that is soluble in water. Hence, the preparation also contains:

Acacia fiber – serves as a nutrient for the bacteria contained in the preparation, enabling their survival and optimizing their development after they are delivered to the intestines. Acacia fiber is tolerated better by the body than the inulin or fructooligosaccharide used in most probiotic preparations. Thanks to the use of this ingredient, there is no risk of bloating or the feeling of intestinal overload during the use of the preparation.

Microencapsulation technology
To maintain the viability of the bacterial strains contained in the preparation, an innovative microencapsulation technology was used. It consists in covering each probiotic cell with a coating of plant-derived fatty acids. This allows the bacteria to reach the destination (intestines) intact, despite the adverse conditions prevailing in the stomach and duodenum. The lipid layer also protects against the effects of moisture, oxidation, and unfavorable pH.

In summary, Lab One N ° 1 SportBiotic is a symbiotic supplement designed for people who want to improve their performance during workouts, reduce the incidence of inflammations in the body or ensure general well-being. The patented formula of two bacterial strains and high-quality fiber optimizes the process of inflammation, supporting regenerative processes and protective properties of the intestinal barrier.
