Jarrow Bile Acid Factors is a supplement containing as much as 1000 mg of bovine bile per capsule. It promotes the function of human bile acids when their endogenous synthesis is insufficient.

Bile acids are a group of amphipathic compounds synthesised out of cholesterol. They are produced naturally in the human organism by the liver as a result of a relatively complicated process requiring over a dozen different enzymes. Their action is mostly focused on fat emulsion, which is possible thanks to their ability to reduce the surface tension of solutions. Their activity is described as hydrotropic, which means that bile acids make substances insoluble in water in the lumen of the gut.

The complexity of bile synthesis often leads to its disorders, which results in a number of dysfunctions in terms of lipid metabolism. Apart from traditional therapeutic methods, mostly focused on the enzymes participating in fatty acid synthesis, supplementation with bile acids of animal origin also proves effective. They exhibit activity similar to that of human enzymes, and two of them (cholic and deoxycholic acids) are bile acids that naturally occur in the human organism. Their use can promote lipid metabolism, exerting a significant effect on the functioning of the organism.

Fat metabolism promotion
The main effect expected from supplementation with bile acids is fat metabolism support and, consequently, a reduction of the digestive discomfort connected with fatty food. It is a simple method that directly promotes lipid assimilation and can significantly alleviate digestive problems that occur after a high-fat meal. An increase in the efficiency of their metabolism not only allows a reduction of the negative effects of their consumption, but it also promotes lipid assimilability, having a positive effect on a number of functions they perform in the organism.

Increased vitamin assimilability
Distorted bile acid synthesis has a negative effect on the assimilability of fat-soluble vitamins, that is A, D, E, and K. The role of those compounds in the organism is of utmost importance, so vitamin supplements containing them are very popular among people who are aware of their eating habits and health. Unfortunately, their assimilability, dependent on their proper supply and fat metabolism, is a factor that is often forgotten. Supplementation with bile acids supports the assimilability of vitamins A, D, E, and K, that way increasing their absorption from food and supplements.

Therapeutic efficacy
According to some sources, supplementation with bile acids can support the therapy of gallstones. By inhibiting their formation, it is a non-invasive method of supporting the treatment of the condition. It is believed that even 12 weeks of regular supplementation with bile acids can reduce gallstones.

To sum up, Jarrow Bile Acid Factors is a highly effective method of promoting lipid metabolism. It allows a reduction of digestive discomfort connected with fat metabolism disorders, thanks to which it is possible to take advantage of their proper absorption. The product is based on the bovine bile acids thought to be the most active in the human organism, and the renowned producer guarantees the highest thoroughness when it comes to the production process, which makes the supplement an option suitable even for the most demanding users.
