HI-TECH Pharmaceuticals 1-Testosterone is an efficient anabolic-androgenic agent based on 1-androstene-3b-ol-17-one, a compound also known as 3b-hydroxy-5a-androst-1-en-17-one, 1-androsterone, or 1-dehydroepiandrosterone, in short 1-Andro and 1-DHEA. Its metabolites display anabolic potential and a moderate androgenic effect, thanks to which they offer extreme muscle mass growth while limiting side effects.
DHEA (5-dehydroepiandrosterone) is a hormone with a steroid structure, produced by the human body out of cholesterol. The main location of its endogenous synthesis is the zona reticularis of the adrenal cortex. It is mainly found in the organism in the form of dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate (DHEAS), a compound bound by sex hormone-binding globulins (SHBG).
The relocation of a double bond in the structure of 5-DHEA from the space between carbon 5 and 6 to the one between 1 and 2 in the steroid ring system, which forms 1-DHEA, leads to changes in some properties exhibited by the previous compound.
1-DHEA, unlike its structural cousin, is not converted to proper testosterone (4-testosterone). However, it can be transformed into 1-testosterone, the compound responsible for the effects associated with 1-DHEA administration.
1-Testosterone (17β-hydroxy-5α-androst-1-en-3-one) is a steroid compound also known as dihydroboldenone, shortly referred to as DHB, 1-T and 1-Test. It is a metabolite of another, commonly known derivative of testosterone, that is boldenone. However, dihydroboldenone is much stronger than boldenone in terms of muscle mass growth, strength, and improvements of body shape achieved with its help. It is thought that traditional testosterone beats its power in terms of value, which is visible in the anabolic-androgenic ratio of this product, that is 200:100.
DHB is associated with the growth of top-quality muscle and low androgenic activity. Limited side effects connected with androgenic receptors
The changes described above make 1-testosterone resistant to aromatisation in the presence of aromatase and constitute an inefficient substrate for 5a-reductase. Thanks to negligible susceptibility to conversion, it does not cause sudden spikes of 5a-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels, which helps to avoid mood swings or tendency to aggressive behaviours. The fact that it does not convert to DHT can give somewhat smaller effects in reality than lab tests suggest. In spite of that, the preparation can cause some symptoms, such as blemishes and hair loss, but the range of those side effects differs between individuals. That means that in some, they may not occur at all. The most commonly reported side effects of its use are drowsiness and fatigue, whose mechanism still has not been entirely understood. Another effect is imbalance of the lipid profile, which should be countered by a proper diet with a lot of omega-3 fatty acids.
No oestrogen-related effects
Just like 5-DHEA and 1-testosterone, 1-DHEA is not converted to oestrogens in the presence of aromatase. Thanks to that, it does not lead to the occurrence of bothersome effects of excessive female sex hormone levels, including gynecomastia and water and fat retention. Unlike 5-DHEA, 1-DHEA exhibits a much lower tendency to stimulate oestrogen receptors, which makes it a much safer agent in terms of potential side effects associated with excessive activity of female sex hormones. Even though the use of one of its derivatives, 1-androstendione, in the pathway of oestrogen production is possible, no negative side effects are observed resulting from the use of 1-Andro.
