You have got questions about the product

  • A combination of two highly absorbable forms of zinc
  • Provides up to 15 mg of elemental zinc per serving
  • Lozenges with a fruity-mint flavor
  • Scientifically confirmed effects
  • Exhibits immunomodulatory properties
  • Limits the activity of some viruses

Olimp CYNKOVir™ Immuno is a dietary supplement that is a source of zinc. The manufacturer has reached for two highly absorbable and bioavailable forms of this element, i.e. zinc gluconate and Albion™ amino acid chelate. The preparation is available in the form of fruit and mint-flavored lozenges.

Zinc belongs to the microelements necessary for the proper growth, development, and functioning of the human body. It affects all most important life processes; participates in the modification of transcription and DNA repair; it is an inhibitor and activator of many enzymes; it helps to maintain a balance between oxidation and reduction processes and regulates the immune system.

Zinc can be found in many commonly consumed products –oysters, giblets, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, as well as cereals are good sources of zinc. The main risk factors for zinc deficiency include an improperly balanced diet, the use of certain pharmaceuticals (e.g. birth control pills), and drinking alcohol.

Zinc exerts immunomodulatory properties. It has been scientifically proven that ions of this metal affect many aspects of the immune system and play an important role in the regulation of the body's response to pathogenic agents. Zinc is important for the proper development and functioning of neutrophils, NK cells, T and B lymphocytes, and macrophages. A deficiency of this element impairs the process of phagocytosis, which is an important element of non-specific immunity and disturbs the balance in the production of cytokines, leading e.g. to the increased levels of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL66, and TNFα.

Zinc limits the activity of some viruses. These include mainly RNA+ viruses, i.e. those whose genome is single-stranded RNA with positive polarization. These are togaviruses, flaviviruses, caliciviruses, astroviruses, picornaviruses, as well as the coronavirus family, including e.g. SARS-CoV virus. Studies have shown that increasing the concentration of zinc can effectively disrupt the replication of RNA+ viruses. This is probably due to inhibition of the activity of the RdRp enzyme (RNA-dependent RNA polymerase) involved in the replication process.

To sum up, Olimp CYNKOVir™ Immuno is a preparation containing a sufficiently high dose of zinc in an easily digestible form. It effectively replenishes deficiencies and helps to maintain the proper level of zinc, which is important for the optimal functioning of the immune system.

Zinc (chemical element from transition group 12) belongs to the trace elements, it helps maintain acid-base balance of the body, protein, energy, lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. It provides bone metabolism and transport of oxygen. It protects the body against free radicals. Necessary for the proper operation of the senses of taste and smell. Positive impact on the process of insulin metabolism in the pancreas. It supports visual adaptation to the dark, has a significant influence on brain function. It is helpful in the treatment of infertility and mental illness.
Zinc deficiency leads to decreased immunity, and growth retardation. Zinc deficiency can occur in case of excessive consumption of simple sugars. In the case of hormonal therapy of women with irregular menstruation, the therapy should be associated with increased consumption of zinc. It can be found in food like: beans, eggs, carrots, beef and pork meat, milk, nuts, citrus fruits, seafood, rice, cottage cheese, lettuce.
Dosage: Daily 12-15 mg zinc. Exceeding the daily dose of 20 mg cause symptoms of poisoning of the body.

Zinc gluconate

Zinc gluconate - a highly bioavailable form of zinc, a trace element belonging to the group of essential microelements. Being the component of numerous enzymatic systems in the human organism, it demonstrates considerable influence on its functioning.

It is an important regulator of work of the immune system, it regulates the processes of production and activity of leukocytes. It promotes the efficiency of the immunity barrier of the organism, has direct antibacterial influence, which is taken advantage of in topical application of zinc preparations.

Supplementation with zinc is also used in order to increase the level of testosterone in the organism. It demonstrates an inhibiting influence on the activity of aromatase P450, which transforms the male sex hormone into estrogen. In this way, it has promoting influence on the concentration of the male sex hormone in the organism.

Zinc is also important when it comes to the functions of the nervous system. Its deficiencies decrease the efficiency of cognitive functions, inhibit concentration and may negatively influence emotional states. Some sources suggest that zinc deficiency may be related to depression.

Some drugs from the group of NSAIDs, inducing acetylsalicylic acid and ibuprofen should not be applied with supplements containing zinc.

Zinc amino acid chelate

Zinc amino acid chelate - an organic compound formed by complexometry i.e. the coupling of a metal ion (zinc) and amino acid. As a result of zinc chelating, a substance, with greater opportunities to use by the body, is obtained, thanks to an increase of bioavailability of the body. Maintains acid-base balance (pH factor ensuring stability in the body). It is used in medicine to treat poisoning by heavy metals (antitoxin). Its neutrality with respect to compounds hindering the bioavailability of zinc (e.g. Phytates) reduces their performance and improves bioavailability of the metal. It is very important that zinc is involved in many metabolic and energy processes. Participates in the synthesis of proteins, the production of certain hormones (especially testosterone) and increases immunity. Supplements containing zinc amino acid chelate are recommended in sport because of the perfect synthesis of testosterone, especially for athletes practising sports that require endurance and strength training. It should be included in the diet of vegetarians and vegans.
Zinc amino acid chelate is available in the form of mono preparations (often fortified with ascorbic acid - vitamin C), vitamin and mineral supplements, also as a component of complexes such as ZMA, MZB.
Dosage: 10-30 mg per day.
