Advice for coffee lovers who start the day with a coffee. Take your time - it's best to reach for a coffee between 9.30 and 11.30. The optimal time is 10.30. The optimal time for drinking morning coffee is 10.30. At this time, because the level of cortisol - a stress hormone with a circadian rhythm of action - begins to decline. Do you drink coffee right after getting out of bed?

Don't do that!

Unnecessary, because the body does not need the stimulation of caffeine, as the concentration of cortisol immediately after waking up is high, and the peak reaches between 8 and 9. So no effect, and it's easy to become resistant to the effects of caffeine - you will drink more and stronger coffee. The even worse solution is to drink a small black on an empty stomach. Although it actually puts you on your feet quickly, especially after a busy night, the effect is short-lived and you will quickly feel a sharp drop in energy.

The body needs a different top-up in the morning - it is better to treat him to a nutritious breakfast with a glass of juice, possibly with a milk latte, and to make stronger coffee, e.g. espresso, for a second breakfast. After drinking coffee on an empty stomach, there is soon a strike of hunger that is difficult to control. Instead of, for example, wholemeal bread, cheese and vegetable sandwiches (containing healthier complex carbohydrates), we are more eager to reach for products with a high glycemic index, e.g. a sweet bun or cookies, consisting of easily digestible simple sugars and low in vitamins.

The problem is that the energy supplied in this way ends quickly, the blood glucose level drops sharply and we are getting hungry again.

It should also be remembered that coffee has a diuretic effect, therefore by drinking strong coffee and not supplementing it with other liquids, we expose the body to dehydration. Another reason why you should wait with your first coffee is ... breath. The morning smell from the mouth, to put it mildly, is not the most pleasant and this is a normal symptom caused by the presence of digestive juices in an empty stomach.

Pictures known from commercials of couples kissing right after waking up and enjoying delicious coffee in bed can be... not so sweet in reality. Coffee certainly does not help in refreshing your breath, as we all know.. It is better to eat a decent breakfast, brush your teeth and only then say hello to your loved one in the close range!

Do you have hypertension? You don't have to give up coffee!

The caffeine contained in coffee briefly raises pressure and speeds up your heart rate. But it should be avoided by those hypertensive people who drink it occasionally because their body will react with strong stimulation.

Those who drink coffee on a daily basis can enjoy its taste, because in their case the reaction of the cardiovascular system is negligible, or even there is none of that. However, it is better to limit yourself to one cup in the morning. Coffee increases the level of cholesterol many times a day and for many years, which in combination with hypertension increases the risk of atherosclerosis.
