Nordic Naturals Baby's DHA Vegetarian is a dietary supplement dedicated to the youngest children. It contains omega-3 acids, mainly DHA and EPA, as well as vitamins A and D, which support the development of the brain, eyes and the entire nervous system. The active substances contained in this preparation come entirely from a natural source, and the product itself meets strict international requirements regarding purity and freshness.

The bottle with the supplement is equipped with a dropper with a measuring scale, which makes it easy to measure the preparation and conveniently add it, for example, to a bottle with milk.

DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) are essential fatty acids (EFAs) belonging to the group of omega-3 fatty acids. They were obtained from Boreogadus saida, also known as the Arctic cod. These acids work best in 1:1 ratio with omega-6 acids, which are the most common in the average diet, which however lacks omega-3 acids. Their unique action consists in supporting mental and physical development of a child. In addition, together with vitamins contained in the supplement, it supports the nervous system and organ of vision comprehensively.

Their action includes:
Correct development of nervous system and eyes
It is recommended to give children higher doses of DHA because of their lower ability to biosynthesize this acid endogenously, compared to adults. EPE itself has similar functions to DHA, but it is also its precursor.

Studies have proven that DHA is necessary for optimal activity of nervous system, and its reduced supply results in a decrease in the content of phospholipids building brain tissue. In a similar study it has also been shown that new-borns are more sensitive to lower amounts of DHA in comparison to adults.

Both of these acids (DHA and EPA), as well as other omega-3 acids, are therefore necessary for the proper development of the nervous system and eyes. They enable proper formation of these organs in infancy and may reduce the risk of neurological diseases in older age. They also support the retina and blood vessels that supply the organ of vision.

Support for balanced mental development
Omega-3 acids facilitate blood flow through the brain and increase oxygen supply to the nervous tissue. Blood transports glucose and other active substances to the brain, and then removes harmful waste products.

Better cerebral oxygenation has a positive effect on cognitive functions in children. DHA prevents excessive aggression, and doses above 300mg have been proven to prevent ADHD. With the improvement of cognitive functions, children learn to speak and understand faster, are more active and have better memory. It has a significant impact on intellectual development, better learning results in the future and fewer educational problems.
