Fenugreek Extract Fenugreek Extract

PURE Fenugreek Extract is a supplement consisting of high-quality fenugreek seed extract, standardized for the content of bioactive substances.

The product has a wide spectrum of health-promoting properties. Initially, fenugreeks were used only to improve digestion and alleviate typical gastrointestinal discomforts. Today, fenugreek extracts are gaining popularity as testosterone boosters. Thanks to their androgenic effect, they can facilitate the work on figure definition and have a positive effect on sexual functions.

Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), or Greek clover, is a popular spice plant originating from the Mediterranean region. Broadly appreciated in culinary art, fenugreek's nutritious content is also valued as a feed additive. Fenugreek seeds also gained popularity in herbal medicine.

Studies on the phytochemical composition of Fenugreek seeds revealed the magnitude of biologically and pharmacologically active compounds, dominated by slimes, steroid saponins (including the popular diosgenin), flavonoids, alkaloids, phytosterols, and phospholipids. In addition, they are an exceptional source of protein, vitamins (including B1, B3, F, and H), and minerals (fluorine, potassium, iron, calcium).

The increase of testosterone levels
Fenugreek is credited with the ability to increase testosterone levels. One of the best-known studies revealed that in all healthy men orally taking 500 mg fenugreek extract per day (for 2, 4 and 8 weeks respectively) there was an increase in free testosterone. Studies also showed a reduced level of body fat as well as increased libido and stronger sexual functions, typical for high levels of androgens.

On this basis, the researchers concluded that the saponin present in plant’s seeds may partially block the activity of enzymes responsible for the breakdown and conversion of testosterone. Among them, there is the enzyme 5-α reductase that initiates the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Another proposed mechanism of fenugreek’s activity encompasses the improvement of sensitivity to androgens. Researchers believe that steroid saponins can increase the concentration of androgen receptors in cells, which makes the body more sensitive to androgens such as testosterone. In addition, Fenugreek seems to stimulate the secretion of stimulant hormones (liberin).

Optimization of glucose metabolism
Fenugreek seeds increase the sensitivity of tissues to insulin and promote the regulation of blood sugar levels. In studies conducted on patients with type 2 diabetes, it was found that the group that received fenugreek seed powder after 8 weeks of regular supplementation had normal serum glucose and optimal insulin response to a carbohydrate meal.

Such activity can be attributed mainly to the 4-Hydroxyisoleucine present in the seeds, which stimulates the secretion of insulin by pancreatic cells. In addition, fenugreek inhibits the activity of carbohydrate-degrading enzymes, which prevents post-meal sugar surges and promotes stabilization of glucose metabolism.

Improving the work of digestive system
Fenugreek has a great influence on the liver, which is reflected in the liver function tests, such as bilirubin, AST, and ALT. The effect of Fenugreek’s activity can be compared to silymarin. Many of the bioactive compounds present in the seeds have a strong antioxidant activity, and additionally, they favorably affect the activity of endogenous antioxidant enzymes present in liver cells.

Fenugreek extracts support digestion and can alleviate typical dysfunctions of the digestive system. They also support treatment of more serious conditions such as peptic ulcer, gastritis or bacterial infections in the digestive system.

Improving the lipid profile
Fenugreek is also used in the prevention of diseases of the cardiovascular system. Above all, it promotes the regulation of lipid parameters. Steroid saponins present in the seeds improve the metabolism of cholesterol, especially in respect of its liver-based conversion to bile acids,. In addition, they inhibit the expression of lipase and slow down the absorption of fatty compounds. As a result, the levels of triglycerides and the most problematic fraction of LDL cholesterol are reduced. Some studies also reveal the antiplatelet properties of coumarins, which are abundantly present in fenugreek seeds.

In conclusion, PURE Fenugreek Extract is a natural supplement with a broad spectrum of health-promoting properties and many applications. It is ideally suited for prevention of cardiovascular diseases and metabolic disorders as well as dysfunctions of the digestive system. With its well documented anabolic potential, the product will satisfy the demands of any man striving to increase their muscle mass.

Information

Fenugreek (Trigonella forenum) - is a herbaceous plant of the family Fabaceae. Fenugreek seeds (semen foenugraeci) reduce the level of sugar through the action of 4-hydroxyisoleucine and cholesterol in the blood. They are a stimulant of milk production, when used – production of milk increases ninefold. It is a source of diosgenin, gitogenin, yamogenien and tigogenin steroid glycosides (saponins). They can be applied internally (are protecting and anti-inflammation on the mucous membrane of the digestive system) and externally (in the inflammatory skin diseases: boils, eczema, abscesses and peptic ulcer disease).
In the sports supplementation
it is used as a source of steroid glycosides (saponin) to increase testosterone levels. Available in the form of mono-preparation supplements and numerous supplements.
Dosage: In the sports supplementation: 200-1000 mg of extract per day (once, or in two doses).
