Hepatica Fermented Garlic is a dietary supplement that contains fermented garlic extract, standardized for min. 0.1% of biologically active S-allylcysteine, as determined by advanced HPLC analytical technique. It is free from the sharp aroma characteristic of fresh garlic.
Fermented garlic, also known as black garlic, belongs to the so-called functional food. The final product is obtained in the so-called aging of garlic, which involves storing heads of regular white garlic under strict conditions (elevated temperature and proper air humidity). Such fermentation results in a change in the color and consistency of the perennial and the formation of entirely new, biologically active compounds. The most important of these is S-allylocysteine, which is formed from allicin but is characterized by better stability and bioavailability.

Cysteine belongs to the group of essential amino acids, synthesized by the body, involved in detoxification of the body. The combination of L-cysteine with glutamine and glycine is involved in the synthesis of glutathione (a powerful antioxidant) and the proteins, enzymes and co-enzymes. Present in the protein product, in smaller amounts in corn and peanuts. The source of the acquisition are also concentrates and whey protein isolates, and preparations containing mixtures of amino acids. Not in the form mono-preparations. It is a component of detoxification, supporting the work of the liver supplements and in supplements improving the cosmetics of the body, usually in the form of L-cystine (two connected cysteine particles) or in the form of NAC.
