NOW FOODS B-50 is a vitamin preparation, in which ingredients are carefully chosen to achieve a desired formula for the preparation and its quality. It is known that there are several types of group B vitamins and they have a very different activity. Overall, vitamins B are very much needed in the functions of the nervous system and they help to promote the integrity of the whole organism. Supplementation with B vitamins in the form proposed by Now Foods is very effective, respective proportions of the individual components allow to avoid many side effects. In the composition of the preparation we can faind vitamin B-1 (thiamine), B-2 (riboflavin), B-3 (niacin), B-5 (pantothenic acid), B-6 (pyridoxine), B-7 (biotin), B- 9 (folic acid), B-12 (cobalamin) and benzoic acid (PABA). In addition, vitamin B complex has beeb strengthened with choline and inositol.

Vitamin B1 (thiamin) works nutritive to the nervous system, improves heart functioning, has a positive impact on brain cells – improves intellectual abilities. It also helps in the digestion of carbohydrates, it helps relieve motion sickness and is helpful in treating nagging illness which is a shingles. The daily dosage for an adult is 1 to 1.5 mg. It is not stored in the body and the excess is excreted from the body in urine.

Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is irreplaceable in metabolism processes. It improves the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. He takes part in the formation of red blood cells and the production of antibodies in the immune system. It is very good for the eyes – it reduces fatigue and prevents the formation of cataracts. It has a positive effect on the skin, nails and hair. Its deficiency, like vitamin B-1 is annoying – promotes the creation of inflammatory conditions of the skin, reproductive organs and promotes the formation of cheilosis zajadów in the little corners of the mouth.

Vitamin B3 (niacin) is known primarily from its protective effect on the skin – prevents changes associated with severe inflammation of the skin – a disease called Pelham Gate. Therefore, it is also known as PP (against Pella Agra). Vitamin B-3 is the only vitamin B produced in the human body – albeit in very small amounts. It also works supportive to the nervous system. It lowers triglycerides and 'bad cholesterol' LDL cholesterol and promotes the production of 'good cholesterol' HDL. It increases the flow of blood by expanding blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. The lack of vitamin B-3 except for skin ailments can result in sleep disorders, the feeling of weakness, outbursts of anger or depression. The long-lasting absence of it may destroy the digestive system – intestines and stomach.

Pantothenic acid, so vitamin B-5 is essential for the functioning of the living of all cells. It plays an important role in metabolic processes, and its main task is to regulate the transformation of sugars, proteins and fats in the body. He is involved in the synthesis of steroid hormones (cortisol, testosterone, estradiol, progesterone) and neurotransmitters (serotonin and dopamine). Deficiency of vitamin B-5 results primarily in cramps, muscle and joint pain, and their stiffness. It also causes impaired vision, fatigue and irritability.
Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) is an essential substance for functioning of more than 100 enzymes involved in series of reactions in the body. It is also essential in the process of protein metabolism, fat-soluble vitamins and tryptophan (helps in the conversion of vitamin B3, or niacin). It is irreplaceable and indispensable in the production of hemoglobin, regulates blood pressure, supports heart work, reduces muscle spasms. Furthermore, it improves immunity and participates in the creation of antibodies.

Biotin (vitamin B-7) is characterized by a high resistance to high and low temperatures. It promotes metabolism – is involved in the synthesis and distribution of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. It stabilizes a blood glucose level, has no effect on pancreas and an insulin secretion. It has also an impact on the proper functioning of the nervous system – indirectly improves mood and vitality. Like most of the group B vitamins it has a positive effect on the condition of skin, nails and hair – strengthens them and delays graying. It relieves muscle pain as well.

Folic acid (vitamin B-9) is a vitamin from group, soluble in water. It is sensitive to high temperature and oxidizes rapidly. It is easily killed by cooking and baking dishes and in the sunshine. It is an essential compond for the functioning of the hematopoietic and nervous system. They take part in the transformation of the amino acids, homocysteine to methionine, and indirectly to neurotransmitters – serotonin, norepinephrine, helping the nervous system in a fight against stress and depression. It also protects the gastrointestinal tract and reduces the risk of colon and stomach cancer. It prevents anemia.

Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin) – it ensures the proper functioning of nerve cells (neurons) by participating in the synthesis of choline, phospholipids, the primary component of the myelin sheath of nerve fibers. Involved in the synthesis of DNA and RNA nucleic acids, and proteins which are the building blocks of nerve cells. It perfectly eliminates excess of lipids in a bloodstream, affecting the functioning of carnitine. It significantly reduces the risk of heart diseases. It protects skeletal system – especially in the case of children and women during menopause. Its deficiency can lead to anemia and diseases of the nervous system, fading memory, chronic exercise-induced pain and general weakness.

PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid) is a vitamin-like substance, very friendly to the skin – it provides its health and protection against UV radiation. It is characterized by antimicrobial activity and inhibits the aging processes. As a part of coenzyme F, it participate in the management of body protein and is involved in red blood cell production, as well as in the transformation of iron. It helps to maintain the proper natural pigmentation of hair, teeth and skin. In addition, it prevents disorders of infertility.

Choline is an organic chemical compound included in the neurotransmitters and many important building blocks of our body. As a result of the metabolism it is formed acetylcholine from choline, which is a neurotransmitter responsible for a brain and nervous system functioning. It promotes a concentration and creative thinking. Choline belongs to, so called lipotropic substances which are responsible for the transport and processing of molecules of fat from the liver to other organs and their absorption into cells. It is also responsible for maintaining proper blood viscosity. The lack of choline gives rise to serious disturbances in the lipid economy and contributes to limiting the transport of nutrients to cells and consequently their dieback. Choline is used to treat disorders of the nervous system and brain – Alzheimer's disease, difficulties in learning speech and impaired motor function.

Inositol is known as a well-being vitamin. It has a big effect on the nervous system. By increasing the sensitivity of receptors for serotonin it definitely improves mood, physical condition and comfort feeling, acting relaxing. It helps to easily overcome stress. It also affects mental performance. It supports the proper operation of the nervous system ensuring the balance of copper and zinc ions in brain cells. Inositol is synthesized in the body, mainly in a liver and intestines. In the case of problems with the assimilation of inositol a proper supplementation should be used. This is necessary, for example in the case of diabetic patients who have a higher blood glucose level – it strongly inhibits the absorption of inositol. A deficiency of inositol in the muscles impairs motor skills and causes nerve interference. The vast supplementation is indicated in the case of patients with mental disorders – neuroses, depression and suffering from anxiety. Such therapy is sometimes more effective than the use of conventional synthetic drugs (such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). Inositol, in principle, does not show any side effects.

NOW FOODS B-50 is a supplement, in which composition we can find a large amount of vitamin B. The composition of the product is based on a balanced selection of appropriate ingredients, chosen to produce a product that is the most effective and at the same time bringing the fewest side effects. It has been proven that the supplementation of individual B vitamins separately, can adversely affect the body – especially when it is carried out by inexperienced people. So it is worth to trust the reputation of Now Foods.
