Lecithin Granules Powder Lecithin Granules Powder

Life Extension Lecithin Granules is a dietary supplement containing a natural, defatted granulated lecithin obtained from genetically unchanged soya, which provides choline and inositol – the substances playing the key role in the proper functioning of the nervous system and maintaining cognitive processes on the appropriate level.

Lecithin is derived from the Greek word lekythos which means yolk. The substance is characterized by high pro-health value and is widely used in medicine. It is obtained mainly from soya, a plant with a rich chemical composition, which is important not only from the point of view of dietetics, but also because of its positive influence on health, especially cognitive functions.

Chemical composition
Soya lecithin is a mixture of phospholipids with various fatty acids remnants. It is composed of among others: phosphatidylcholine (PC), phosphatidylserine (PS), phosphatidylethanolamine (PE), phosphatidic acid and phosphatidylinositol (PI). In the composition of the lipophilic part, there are fatty acid remnants, while the hydrophilic part is composed of glycerol and the rest of phosphoric acid and choline.

Lecithin as a component of cell membranes
Phospholipids take part in building cell membranes (i.a. neurons and intercellular structures) and influence their liquidity and stability. Lecithin is their perfect source, therefore it has been connected with the positive influence on memorization.

Lecithin as acetylcholine precursor
Lecithin provides choline – an essential component in the production of acetylcholine, which is one of the most important neurotransmitters. Acetylcholine stimulates adrenal medulla cells to the production of catecholamines – dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline, which influence the activity of the central nervous system, improve psychophysical efficiency and alleviate depression states. Low level of acetylcholine may be the cause of problems with memory and concentration and as a consequence, it may lead to neurodegenerative disorders.

Moreover, choline takes part in the synthesis of myelin sheaths, which play neuroprotective function and it also influences proper transmission of nerve impulses and cell membranes permeability.

There are many studies confirming the influence of lecithin on the proper functioning of the brain. According to many observations, lecithin may counteract cognitive disorders among elderly people. Moreover, this substance mitigates the symptoms in the case of people with Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s diseases – by improving memory, motor and cognitive abilities.

Lecithin as inositol carrier
Lecithin provides inositol – a substance belonging to the group of B vitamins. Inositol improves neurotransmission, reduces stress and tension and may be effective in sleep problems. This compound additionally positively influences cholesterol metabolism and increases protection against atherosclerosis.

Moreover, inositol improves receptor sensitivity to serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter which regulates the functions of the central nervous system, has anti-depressant effect, reduces sleeplessness, stabilizes well-being and regulates the activity of the nervous system.

Summing up, Life Extension Lecithin Granules is a dietary supplement recommended in the case of memory disorders, worse concentration and decreased ability to focus attention, muscle hyperactivity and sleep problems. The preparation is recommended in the state of exhaustion both physical and psychological and it may also be used before the events that require exceptional psychomotor efficiency.

Calories

Information

Calories are the conventional name of the unit expressing the energy value of food, the demand and energy expenditure in human body, which in fact is 1 kilocalorie (1 kcal). 1 kilocalorie is the amount of thermal energy required to heat 1 g of water and 1 degree Celsius. The SI unit of thermal energy is 1 joule (1J), equal to approximately 4,185 kcal.
The energy value is determined by the chemical composition of the food product, by means of the so-called. physiological equivalents. Most often Atwater equivalent is used: ratio for protein 4 kcal / g, for carbohydrates 4kcal / g, and for fat - 9kcal / g.
The energy value carried out with the so-called. "Caloric bomb" is equivalent to the physical energy, amounting to 4.1 kcal per 1 g carbohydrate to 5.65 kcal per 1 g protein, 9.45 kcal per 1 g of fat.
Nutritional value, determines the suitability of a food product for realizing life functions of human, the higher it is - the higher bioavailability and lower quantity for consumption for obtaining the effects.

Fat

Information

Fat is an essential nutrient plant and animal organisms. Because of the nutritional value and composition of fats are divided into: saturated (mono-saturated and multi-saturated fatty acids) and unsaturated fatty acids (including essential fatty acids - EFA). The group of lipids include lipids (triacylglycerols, waxes), complex fats (glycolipids, phospholipids), sterols and isoprenoids. Saturated fatty acids is a group of fatty acids having different carbon chain lengths, in which except for the carboxyl group, each of the carbon atoms is bound by a single bond. May adversely affect the lipid profile, so they can be used in limited quantities. Fats are a concentrated source of energy, with different flavours, facilitating the consumption and swallowing of food. They have building functions (part of cell membranes and co-create the white matter of the brain). EFAs are precursors of tissue hormones and biologically active compounds. The unsaturated fatty acids include fatty acids from the group Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9 (the last digit indicates, on which, counting of the end of the chain, there is a double bond in the appropriate carbon chain. The essential fatty acids include: acids, medium-Omega-3 [n-3 ] included in EFAs [essential fatty acids], and long chain (eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA] and docosahexaenoic acid [DHA]) Omega-6 and Omega-9. the number indicates that the last double bond in the carbon chain is on the third from the end carbon atom. The acids from the omega 3 group are essential components of cell membranes, they are precursors of eicosanoids and biological activators. They must be combined with ingestion in suitable proportions of Omega-6 acids.
Dosage: Depending on demand and applied diet. It is generally accepted that fats should constitute 20-30% of the energy (calorie) of meals daily.

Lecithin

Information

Lecithin is part of the phospholipids (lipid complex), beneficial for the function of the cardiovascular system and blood lipid profile and fat metabolism. It is a source of choline which is a precursor of acetylcholine (neurotransmitter) that affects the nervous system, including inositol (stabilizer of the copper and zinc balance in the body). It improves concentration, cognition and memory. Forms a colloidal suspension of a liquid in the fat (emulsification) allowing for their use in the food industry. It is a component of dietary supplements supporting the work of the central nervous system, blood circulation, accelerating weight loss and in protein, carbohydrate-protein supplement as an emulsifier, available at www.muscle-zone.pl
Dosage: as per the prescription, customarily 1 - 10 g / 24h

Soybean

Information

Soybeans (Soja hispida), the plant imported into Polish, the medicinal raw material and food are seeds (Semen sojae), which is a rich source of protein (approx. 50%), nitrogen-free compounds, fibre, lecithin, genistein and greasy oil. Soybean oil is one of the more preferred oils for health due to the presence of the beta-sitosterol. Scientifically the substances contained in soy confirm its effect on the lipid profile (lower cholesterol in the blood), anti-atherosclerotic effect. It is also used as a food product in the household, replacing the beans. It is a component of protein-carbohydrate and protein supplements and soybean oil, available at www.muscle-zone.pl

Choline

Information

Choline belongs to the soluble in liquids group of B vitamins. It is an organic nitrogen base containing lecithin, and acetylcholine. Together with inositol is involved in the metabolism of fats and cholesterol metabolism, preventing its accumulation on the walls of arteries and deposits in the gallbladder. With the penetration of the brain, contained lecithin improves its action and improves memory. Used in the treatment of age-related diseases (Alzheimer's). It occurs in plant foods: yeast, wheat germ, lecithin, green leafy vegetables and egg yolks.

Phosphatidylethanolamine

Information

Phosphatidylethanolamine (cephalin) is a phospholipids (lipid complex) from the group, which also includes phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylinositol, occurring in the brain. They form a lecithin, or is synthesized from other phospholipids (phosphatidylserine). It affects the stability of cell membranes, by stimulating lipid profile. Ethanolamine, which is derived from phosphatidylethanolamine, affects the metabolism of fats. Phosphatidylethanolamine is a component of a nutritional, functional and vitamin supplements, usually with together other composite fats.

Inositol

Information

Inositol is an organic compound from the group of B vitamins soluble in fluids, present in the natural or synthetic form, synthesized in plants, such as brewer's yeast, beans, grapefruit, cabbage, sprout of wheat, melons and animal (liver). Along with choline is included in the lecithin. It affects the cell nutrition of the central nervous system (brain) by reducing the level of LDL (bad cholesterol), this makes it applicable in treatment of Alzheimer's disease and atherosclerosis. It has a calming effect. There has been a beneficial effect of inositol on the skin and hair reported.
